PREFACE
The Skyblock Project is the introduction of highly customized Skyblock servers on LemonCloud. These servers will be frequently updated with features from our roadmap concepts.
Existing servers such as OPPrison, etc will be labelled "Legacy Gamemodes" and kept as long as there is still a reasonable population on them; however, updates will no longer be made to them and they are expected to slowly dwindle and fade out. The idea is to focus our attention on one gamemode for now, and potentially add more in the future when one is as close to "perfected" as possible and has a solid base.
Below will describe the theme, vision and timeline of the server. It's worth a brief scan, regardless of whether you're a builder, developer, or content creator for the initial rush of the project. Best of luck, and I hope we can come together and create something incredible! c:

Everyone knows about the Skyblock Initiative.
For as long as you can remember, we've been sending our best to the skies,
to the floating islands that speckled our horizon.
With their ideal climate, influential weather and gravitational force,
the islands have been ideal for resource production and architectural development. Plus, rumors of "Dungeon" Islands surfacing and hiding legendary loot has piqued the interest of daredevil adventurers too.
Farmers, ranchers, hunters, architects, miners and entrepreneurs have alike swarmed for a chance to claim one of the "Skyblocks" for their own.
And this year, you've made the cut as the newest recruit.
With your backpack stuffed with the best tools and as much food your little hometown could offer, you catch the next airbus for the S.S. LemonCloud, the biggest floating hub-city, to stock up on supplies and claim your very own sky island.
Will you use the extra space to construct your own paradise - somewhere for you to find peace and quiet away from the bustle of life?
Or will you partake in the Island Top Competition; and transform your island into the ultimate factory, lined with farms and grinders that will bring your island wealth beyond imagination?
Whatever you choose to do with your island, one thing's for sure.

GAMEPLAY
// STARDUST \\
Instead of placing blocks for IS Top, players can collect and use/trade "stardust". Stardust is a lored piece of glowstone dust, and can be right clicked to add levels to the island that the user owns/is a member of.
Stardust can be gathered from various places such as crates, mob hordes, bosses, mission/achievement rewards, etc.
// FLUCTUATING economy \\
In an attempt to further reduce the AFK/generic aspects of Skyblock and introduce more dynamic gameplay, the server will track the quantity of items the players sell to the server. The items sold the most will have their price cut down, while those that are rarely sold will have their price raised.
The formula is as follows:
tomorrowPrice = todayPrice * [0.7 + (sellRank-1)*(0.6/totalItems)]
This will ensure that the top sold item's price is decreased by 30%, while the least sold increased by 30%. Everything else in in between
// CUSTOM ENCHANTS \\
We all know what custom enchants are; but we've drawn inspiration from Factions' system to create one that's just as intricate, but almost doubled in quantity. With approximately 90 armor, weapon and tool enchantments, players will be encouraged to spend time actively grinding for EXP and trading for Enchantment Runes to create their perfect GSet.
// CATALYSTS \\
On a similar note, Catalysts are equipment that automatically gain random CEs as they are used (similar to Tinker's Construct, the popular mod). No scrolls or runes can be applied to Catalysts - meant for players starting off and/or with money to spare, as it's a huge gamble with the potential to pay off. Will also encourage players to actually use their equipment instead of AFKing spawners.
// 2nd Currency: UNITS \\
Similar to the VoteShop plugin, Units are a secondary currency that players can obtain only through killing mobs. This rewards players further for grinding for CE's, and also encourages them to participate in Server-Wide missions (explained later) as these missions give a Unit multiplier. Units can be used to purchase a variety of premium items, such as fuel for bots, food for companions, etc.

These are machines that can mine, kill mobs, harvest, and plant crops for players automatically. They run for set amounts of time per fuel, and have their own inventories that can be upgraded. (TBC w/ a dev: Potentially also could have hoppers pull items out of these inventories?)

Spawner Upgrade:
- Spawn higher quanities of mobs
Furnace Upgrade:
- Smelt things at higher speeds
- Lower fuel consumption
Hopper Upgrade:
- Transfer more items per tick
- Bigger suction radius
- Item filters
// ISLAND UPGRADES \\
Players can upgrade their islands to be able to contain more machinery, have bigger build spaces, team sizes, and better ore generators. Similar to the current on in sbw and sbf, but better balanced to fit the new economy.
// CUSTOM SKILLS \\
Replaces McMMO for better customization, players can level up their Swords, Lumberjack, Mining, Agricultural and Archery skills for special abilities and bonuses. More skills may be added in the future, such as Fishing and Mobbing.
// THE RUINS & MOB HORDES \\
The Ruins will be a warp meant to encompass extensive PvE activity. The Ruins will spawn "hordes" of specialized mobs each day, sometimes with certain mutations and in turn better rewards. These mobs will drop units, stardust, and other rewards. Bosses may also spawn in the Ruins at a low chance.
Players will be able to purchase mob horde and boss summoning tokens in the webstore, which will then summon these things in the Ruins.
// COMPANIONS \\
Essentially pets that are more than cosmetic; companions will follow the player around and perform various tasks; such as giving a small exp/unit boost, automatically heal the player when they are low, give fire resistance or night vision, etc. Will be obtainable on the webstore mostly, although some lower tier ones will be avail in the Units shop.
// MISSIONS \\
Missions are daily goals for the player to reach (for instance, mine 500 cobblestone etc). Players get 5 individual missions per day drawn randomly from a massive pool of hundreds. There will be a leaderboard, and player(s) with the most missions completed at the end of the month will receive a small reward.
GALAXY Missions are missions on a much bigger scale and will require the entire server to work together to complete. The whole server is given 2 weeks to reach a mass goal (e.g. kill 1,000,000 mobs) and if completed, will receive three days of multipliers on units and exp gain.
VS. Missions will be pushed out when we open a second server. They are essentially galaxy missions, but will be a competition between two servers. Once again, the server that wins will receive multipliers on units and exp gain.
// ACHIEVEMENTS \\
Achievements will be one-time goals for the player to achieve. Certain achievements must be completed to progress (e.g. must complete all easy enchantments to upgrade past Tier 3 on IS Upgrades, etc).
This will force players to be creative and try to pursue other aspects of gameplay instead of upgrading to max IS Upgrades in a week.
// DUNGEONS \\
Dungeons will be open for teams of players and will involve challenges such as parkour, killing mob hordes, and a final boss. The boss can drop a a key for the next dungeon level, and/or piece of their armor set per dungeon run. When four sets of a matching boss armor are worn by the same player, they gain some kind of boost in strength or regen or etc effects.
